Historical Background

• The J-10 (Vigorous Dragon) is China’s domestically developed single-engine, canard-delta wing supersonic multirole fighter.
• Developed by Chengdu Aircraft Design Institute, the prototype completed its maiden flight in 1998 and formally entered service with the PLAAF in 2004.
• It is designed for air superiority combat, interception and precision ground strike missions.
• The aircraft features relaxed static stability and advanced fly-by-wire flight control system, delivering outstanding high-maneuver performance for medium-range air combat and close dogfight.
