Historical Background

• The 8.8cm Flak 18 Selbstfahrlafette, nicknamed "Bunkerflak" or Bufla, was built on the Sd.Kfz.8 12t heavy half-track chassis before WWII.
• Only ten vehicles were manufactured, designed to destroy heavy enemy tanks and concrete fortifications.
• All ten vehicles were assigned to Panzerjäger-Abteilung 8 and saw combat in Poland campaign, Battle of France and Operation Barbarossa.
• These vehicles were extremely effective against heavily armoured Allied tanks like the French Char B1 bis; the last surviving vehicles were lost by March 1943.
