Historical Background

• The Sd.Kfz.8 DB10 Gepanzerte 12t was the armored cabin variant of the Sd.Kfz.8 12 ton heavy half-track tractor, developed on the final DB10 chassis.
• It added thin armour plating to protect the driver and crew from small arms fire and shell splinters during frontline towing missions.
• Its primary task was to tow large-caliber heavy artillery such as the 21cm Mörser 18 and 17cm Kanone 18 on the battlefield.
• This armored version was produced in limited numbers and served across multiple German WWII combat theatres from 1939 to 1945.
