Historical Background

• The KV-1S/85 (Object 238) was a Soviet experimental heavy tank developed in 1943.
• It was built on KV-1S heavy tank chassis and fitted with the new 85mm S-31 main gun for firepower trials.
• Only two prototypes were manufactured for range testing, and this vehicle never entered mass production.
• The test data from KV-1S/85 laid the foundation for the subsequent KV-85 heavy tank development.
