Historical Background

• The LAV-III TUA (TOW Under Armour) is a dedicated anti-tank variant of the Canadian LAV-III light armoured vehicle platform.
• It mounts the TOW missile system inside an armoured turret, providing protected anti-tank firepower for mechanized units.
• The vehicle entered Canadian service in the late 1990s and was widely deployed during missions in Afghanistan.
• It retains the excellent cross-country mobility of the LAV-III family, designed to engage enemy tanks and heavy armoured vehicles from standoff range.
