    Historical Background

    • The Grille 21 (210mm) was a late-WWII German heavy self-propelled artillery project built on Tiger tank components.
    • Designed by Krupp, the large 210mm mortar was installed on a movable rail platform and could be dismounted for ground deployment.
    • The vehicle required an 8-man crew, powered by Maybach HL230 engine, with a projected top speed of 45 km/h.
    • Only one partial prototype of the Grille series was captured before the war ended; the Grille 21 never entered mass production.
