Historical Background

• Panzerjäger-Triebwagen 51 was a German dedicated anti-tank armored railcar project designed in mid-1943
• It adopted dual opposing Panzer IV turrets, delivering powerful front and rear anti-tank fire on railway lines
• Only three units (No.51~53) were under construction by 1944-1945, merely one vehicle fully finished before the end of WWII
• None of these railcars entered actual combat; the completed unit was captured by US troops at Steyr factory
• This unique railway fighting vehicle was intended to defend rail supply lines, counter enemy armoured forces and anti-partisan missions, representing Germany’s late-war emergency armored train design
