Historical Background

• The ZIL-157K was a modified variant of the famous Soviet ZIL-157 6x6 off-road military truck.
• It retained the reliable six-cylinder gasoline engine and strong cross-country capability of the base vehicle.
• Designed to transport troops, supplies and tow artillery pieces across rough unpaved terrain.
• Mass-produced in the USSR from the 1950s and widely used by Soviet ground forces.
• Deployed for logistics delivery, troop transport and field support missions during the Cold War.
• This upgraded version improved loading efficiency and became a staple military transport vehicle for Soviet units.
