    • The WR 360 C12 was a Wehrmacht standard-gauge diesel shunting locomotive, evolved from the earlier HR 360 C12 prototype
    • Built by multiple German manufacturers including Deutz, Henschel, Krupp and BMAG from 1937 onward
    • The designation WR stands for Wehrmacht Regelspur, 360 hp power rating, C wheel arrangement with 12-ton axle load
    • Widely used by German Army, Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine for marshalling wagons, railguns and heavy cargo at ports, depots and frontline railway yards
    • Unlike steam locomotives, it produced no tell-tale steam plume, making it valuable for frontline operations
    • Many units survived WWII and continued service in several European nations after 1945
