    Historical Background

    The Panzerkampfwagen V Panther (Sd.Kfz.171) is one of the most famous German medium tanks of World War II. The Ausf.G early variant entered production in 1944, with refined hull and turret design compared to earlier Panther models. It was armed with the powerful long-barrel 75mm KwK42 L/70 gun, capable of penetrating most Allied tank armour at long distances, paired with well-sloped frontal armour and good cross-country mobility. Panther G early models fought extensively on both Eastern and Western Fronts. Despite persistent mechanical reliability problems, the Panther is widely regarded as one of the best tank designs of the Second World War.
