    Historical Background

    The J-36 is the sixth-generation stealth fighter developed by Chengdu Aircraft Corporation for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force. It adopts an unconventional tailless diamond double-delta wing and three-engine layout, optimized for all-aspect stealth, supersonic performance and long-range strike. It carries large internal weapon bays for long-range air-to-air missiles and heavy ordnance, designed for air superiority, anti-high-value target and deep penetration combat missions.
