    Historical Background

    • The Sd.Kfz.173 Jagdpanther is a powerful German heavy tank destroyer of World War II, built upon the Panther medium tank chassis.
    • This late-production variant was manufactured in 1944–1945, with simplified superstructure and mantlet compared to early models.
    • It was armed with the formidable 8.8 cm Pak 43 anti-tank gun, capable of penetrating the front armour of nearly all Allied tanks at long range.
    • It combined thick sloped frontal armour and excellent cross-country mobility inherited from the Panther chassis.
    • Late Jagdpanther vehicles served on both Eastern and Western Fronts in the final months of the Second World War.
    • Although only a small quantity was produced, the Jagdpanther is widely regarded as one of the finest tank destroyer designs of WWII.
