    Historical Background

    The Sd.Kfz.182 King Tiger is the formidable German heavy tank developed in the late stage of World War II. It was armed with the powerful 88mm KwK43 L/71 main gun and equipped with thick sloped heavy armour. Two different turret versions were produced: Henschel turret and Porsche turret. King Tiger served with German heavy tank battalions on both Eastern and Western Fronts. Although produced in limited quantity, it was one of the most feared armoured fighting vehicles of WWII, capable of engaging nearly all Allied tanks at long range.
