    Historical Background

These US infantry figures depict soldiers serving aboard M113A1 and M113A1 ACAV armored personnel carriers during the Vietnam War. M113 series vehicles were widely used as battlefield taxis, troop carriers and fire support platforms in Vietnam’s jungle combat. The ACAV variant added extra machine gun shields and side armor for better protection against ambushes. US troops often rode on top of the APCs for better situational awareness in dense jungle environments.
