The T57 is a heavy tank that was planned for development by the US military in 1951 as an advanced version of the M103 heavy tank.
The vehicle was planned to be built on the chassis of the T43 prototype (later the M103 heavy tank) and equipped with an oscillating turret with an autoloading 120mm gun, developed by the French company AMX at the time.
However, due to the lengthy development time, the project was cancelled once the turret was manufactured.
