    Historical Background

    The Volkswagen Type 82 Kübelwagen was Germany’s primary lightweight off-road vehicle in WWII. This kit depicts the famous car "OTTO", used by Luftwaffe top ace Hans-Joachim Marseille in the North African campaign. Marseille used this Kübelwagen for daily transport on the desert airfield, and the vehicle became well-known alongside his combat legend in the Sahara.
