Historical Background
F/A‑18C Hornet is single‑seat multi‑role combat aircraft developed by McDonnell Douglas. After the first Gulf War, Kuwait ordered 32 F/A‑18C single‑seat fighters plus 8 F/A‑18D two‑seat trainers, deliveries completed 1993. These fighters equipped 9th and 25th Fighter‑Attack Squadrons at Ahmad al‑Jaber Air Base, forming the core combat strength of Kuwait Air Force. After multiple avionics upgrades, they support modern air‑to‑air and precision strike missions and took part in operational sorties over Yemen.
