Historical background：

The first test flight of the original S-2 was on December 4, 1952, and the production version began manufacturing in 1953.

Before its discontinuation, Grumman Aircraft Company developed 18 different variants of the S-2 with different codes, producing a total of 1342 aircraft.

There are more than ten types of S-2 anti submarine aircraft exported to countries such as Brazil, Japan, Canada, and Argentina.

The S-2 anti submarine aircraft was developed by the US Grumman Aircraft Company in the early 1950s for the US Navy. It made its maiden flight on December 4, 1952 and entered service with the US Navy in 1954.

A total of 1269 aircraft were manufactured and discontinued in 1967. They were the main carrier based anti submarine aircraft of the US Navy in the 1950s and 1970s.
