- UH - 1N Twin Huey is a medium - range military helicopter that flew for the first time in April 1969.
- This machine originally extended the body of bell 205 for the Canadian army, and bell 212 which strengthened the engine to twin pack system, delivery began to Canadian army from 1971 with the name of CH - 135.
- The US Marine Corps operated the single engine type UH - 1 E, but because of the nature of the mission the frequency of offshore flight was high, so the recruitment of Bell 212 was explored, and from 1970 to the US Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps 294 bells 212 were delivered and formulated as UH - 1N.
- In the US military, even UH-1N adopted the official name of the UH-1 series [Iroquois], but the soldiers were called [Twin Huey] or simply [Huey].
