    Historical Background

The Horten Ho 229 is Germany’s late-WWII tailless jet-powered flying wing fighter, designed by the Horten brothers. It was one of the earliest jet flying wing aircraft, intended for high-speed strike missions. Only a few prototypes were built before the end of the war, and it never entered mass production. It is widely recognized as an early exploration of stealth and flying wing aviation concepts.
