    Historical Background

    Sd.Kfz.184 Elefant heavy tank destroyer evolved from the earlier Ferdinand. Rebuilt and modified from Porsche Tiger (P) chassis, 90 vehicles were converted in total. Equipped with powerful 88‑mm Pak 43 anti‑tank gun and massive frontal armour.

    It first fought at Battle of Kursk, later deployed on Italian front. Although possessing outstanding long‑range anti‑tank capability, it suffered poor mechanical reliability and lacked close‑defence machine‑gun protection against infantry.
