    Historical Background

The Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.H was the mass-produced variant of Germany’s main medium tank in WWII, entering service in 1943. It mounted the long 75mm KwK 40 main gun and added side skirt armor against shaped-charge anti-tank weapons. Zimmerit coating was applied to prevent magnetic mines from attaching to the hull. It fought on the Eastern Front, Italian theatre and Western Front until the end of the war.
