    The Aero L‑29 Delfín was designed in Czechoslovakia, first flown in 1959. It became the standard jet trainer for Warsaw‑Pact air‑forces. More than 3,600 units were built and widely operated across Eastern‑Europe, Soviet Union, Middle‑East and Africa, later replaced by the L‑39 Albatros.
