HMS Sheffield Type 42 Guided Missile Destroyer Batch 1 Model Kit | FORE ART 3001 1/350

Specification:

- Full hull version (with stand)
- Etching and decals included

Historical background:

The HMS Sheffield Type 42 was the first ship of the Type 42 missile destroyer, which began construction in 1970 and entered service in 1975.
In the 1982 Falklands War, the ship HMS Sheffield Type 42 was hit by a flying fish missile launched by an Argentine supercar attack aircraft, and subsequently caught fire and was damaged. It sank on May 10th.

From a military perspective, the sinking this time was a major defeat for the aircraft carrier, but some believe that it blocked the fatal blow for the aircraft carrier and to some extent protected the aircraft carrier.
