    The US AH-1Z “VIPERâ€?is designed to replace the AH-1W as the new generation of armed helicopters. Compared with the early AH-1 (which is also the world's first armed helicopter), it has been upgraded from single engine to double engine, from two bladed propeller to four bladed propeller, and its electronic system and weapons have been fully upgraded.

    It entered service on September 30, 2010 and was fully delivered by October 2020, completely replacing the AH-1W. A total of 189 aircraft are equipped.
