    Historical background:

    U.S. Navy LCM3 Landing Craft is a large mechanized landing craft manufactured by the United States between 1942 and 1945, with over 8500 units produced. It was extensively used for transporting tanks during World War II.
    Due to the lack of ships in the UK that transport tanks lighter than tank landing craft, LCM landing craft is also adopted by the Royal Navy.
    At dawn of the Normandy landings, most of the LCM landing craft were towed by ships and passed through the English Channel, without carrying any infantry at that time.
